Everyone loves our Street Dance Workshops! It’s great for boys and girls as it’s fast, cool and current. With so much Street Dance in our culture today, it is a familiar style that children really enjoy.
Everyone loves our Street Dance Workshops! It’s a really popular style of dance that is always in demand. It’s great for KS1 and KS2 classes.
The workshops will follow this format:
Brief intro into Street dance and it’s history
Warm up to a funky song
Teaching a dance routine
The students can add on their own choreography if there is time
Cool down and stretch
If you aren’t sure what it’s like, take a look at an example of it in our short video demo. This choreography would be suitable for older children, but it can of course be adapted and made simpler for younger years.
We incorporate different styles within ‘Street’ dance
Hip hop – fast and funky moves
Funk – Old Skool’ 80’s street dance
Locking and Popping – Current popular dance style ‘locking’ your body
Breakdance – learn some safe moves
Freestyle – which gives you a change to show us your fantastic moves.
Dance to the latest tunes in this physical workshop. All the music Zest uses use is current but we have made sure the lyrics are suitable for young ears (which is no easy thing these days!).
If you have a song your class would love to dance to, let us know and we’ll choreograph something amazing for you.
