World Cup Workshops for Schools

Our World Cup themed dance workshops will make you feel like a winner!

Our World Cup Workshops for Schools celebrate the 48 countries taking part – In 2026, it’s the largest tournament that has ever happened!

Hosted by Mexico this time, the tournament happens in June and the world goes into a football frenzy.

Ages

Our workshops cater for all ages and abilities – they are especially good for engaging boys who are footie mad. From KS1 to KS3, we adapt the content to make it suitable for the different year groups taking part.

Workshop Content

  • Short intro into the history of the World Cup and the countries taking part
  • Dance warm up using some iconic music from the world cup over the years
  • Teaching a dance routine using flag props, football moves and cultural dances
  • Time to add on some of the students own choreography (if timings allow)
  • Informal performances to each other/other classes
  • Cool down and stretch to finish

Our World Cup Workshops for Schools are something exciting to add into the school calendar, that all students will remember. Our dance workshops will make a great addition to this exciting time of year (or at any time of year)!

Dance Styles

We teach such a large range of dance styles during the workshop, to keep it exciting for everyone.

Flags

Using large flags from different countries, we dance using these large props to create an exciting beginning to the dance.

Football

We use some energetic football motifs to create a lively dance section which will feel familiar to anyone who plays some football already. But we do it in time to music!

Cultural, Traditional Dance

We also choose some countries that will be playing in the World Cup and teach some cultural, traditional dance sections of our routine.

Once we have put it all together, the end dance really is something to be seen!

Timings

We recommend at least 40mins per workshops for this dance (it can be longer for older students). As we have a lot to fit in and want you to make the most of your time with Zest.

Performance

The time we spend in your school can culminate in a dance performance from your students. This is a great opportunity for everyone to see all your hard work.

You can even invite parents in to watch…

This can be done at the end of the day, and your Zest teacher will stay to help run this part. You’d need to leave at least 30mins for the performance if there are lots of classes taking part.

We’d work it so that each class focuses on a different country for the cultural section of their dance. So that everyone gets to try something different. This is really exciting for everyone to see in the end performances.

That’s fine if you don’t want to have a performance. Each class can enjoy their workshops, with no pressure to perform.
