School Assemblies

We can start our day with you with an exciting 15-20min school assembly first thing in the morning.

Your experienced Zest dance teacher will prepare an assembly to wow all your students. We can do it to the whole school at once, or have two assemblies tailored for different groups, it’s up to you.

It’s a great way for your students to know a little background about the chosen dance, and to get them excited about their workshop. It’s also a great opportunity to meet your Zest dance teacher.

The morning assembly includes:

• Telling the children what they will be doing throughout the day in the dance workshops
• Some background about the style of dance you have chosen and it’s history
• Showing props and costumes relating to that dance style (where appropriate)
• Short dance demo from your professional dance teacher of your chosen style of dance
• A fun way to try out some simple moves ahead of the workshop! (either sat down, or standing if there is space)

Cost

The cost for adding in a morning assembly is £30.00

Performance Assemblies

Alternatively we can finish your day with an assembly. The classes who have had a workshop can do a short performance to the rest of the school, or even to parents.

At Zest we really think that performance is important, whether it be at the end of the class in small groups, or as a whole class in assembly.

An informal performance is great as it gives the participants something to work towards in their sessions. They feel a great sense of personal achievement, and are proud to show their dances to others.

An assembly gives the children who were not able to take part in a workshop a chance to see what the others have been up to. They get to experience the music and dance through watching the performance, and will feel inspired to dance themselves.

How long?

They would need at least 30mins for the end of day assembly.

Each of the dance workshops during the day would need to be at least 40mins long, so they have enough time to put a few moves together.

Your Zest dance teacher would dance with each of the classes to help the students remember their dances! So they don’t need to panic if they can’t remember it all from their workshops 😉

Cost

There isn’t any added cost for the afternoon performance assembly.

Leavers Assembly/School Play

We could even help choreograph a school play, or work with Year 6 to make their leavers assembly one to remember!
