Greek dancing was traditionally used to bring together the community at times of celebration.

Every region in Greece has it’s own dance style, in some coastal villages it has a more fluid appearance, while others from mountainous regions are sharper.

We bring these styles together in a dance which has fantastic intricate foot work, fast changes in directions, and can also be very energetic.

Teamwork

Greek dance is good for young children learning about spacial awareness. Getting into circles and lines can be a challenge, so this style helps them to get used to the language we use. It is also a good dance style for promoting team work, as it is danced in lines with everyone connecting up and dancing in unison.

The music we use in our Greek dance workshops has a strong infectious beat – you can’t help but dance!
