Ballet dancers for events

Amongst other things, we supply ballet dancers for events. Shhhh, we are not really supposed to talk about this but we are a bit rebellious here at Zest!

We were approached to supply 10 Ballet dancers for a celebrity wedding (can’t say who for privacy reasons). It was up in York in a castle! We set off at 8am on the train up there, with 10 dancers, some Ariel performers and a bunch of actors, all excited for the day ahead.

The bride and groom wanted a really theatrical event for the the day after the wedding – the party part of it all. Castle Howard was stunning and it was even snowing to create a magical winter wonderland (money can’t buy that). But no expense was spared – it was all amazing.

Tutus

We had to source and buy all the white Tutus and costumes for the 10 dancers. One dancer was being a Ballerina on a music box, so she had a stunning romantic era costume hired from Angels which is a famous costume shop in London.

Wedding

The guests had their six course dinner and then were lead through the castle seeing all the performers on the way around the castle rooms.

Performances

The ballet dancers were in an immensely long hallway with dry ice and thousands of candles. They were holding branches covered in flowers in an arc, and the guests passed underneath. The guests then walked through rooms where there was the Music Box Ballerina, into an Alice in Wonderland feast scene with lots of actors, and a Charlie Chaplin Room.

After the guests ate their desert, the dancers danced in the main hall. There was also a silk artist who was accompanied by a live band. It was really moving watching her dance on the red silk. Then as she finished her act hundreds of white balloons fell from the ceiling! The dancers led the guests out to the steps of the castle where they were treated to a firework display. It was a totally unbelievable wedding!

Home time

Eventually the performers left the beautiful Bride and groom and guests to dance the night away. They got on a coach and headed back to London. It was a very long day and night but it was the most magical wedding, and we were so happy to be part of it.
