One Pound Fish music video!
We were approached two weeks ago from Warner Brothers to help with a music video they were making, for the ‘One Pound Fish’ music video. The star of the video became an overnight sensation, and we loved being involved in the making of his video.
Muhanned Nazir was a market trader from Pakistan who moved to East London to work at Queen’s Market in Upton Park. He worked on a fish stall and used to sing to passers by:
“Come on ladies, come on ladies
One pound fish
Have-a, have-a look
One pound fish
Very, very good, very, very cheap
One pound fish
Six for five pound
One pound each”
People loved him as he is such a character, and they started to video him on the market. He ended up performing his song on The X Factor!
When it came to making the one pound fish music video they approached Zest. They needed to hire some Bollywood costumes for the dancers to wear on the shoot, and for us to be the stylist for the day.

So we took all the costumes, went to Three Mills Studio in East London and had 6 dancers to dress for the day. They were lovely young dancers in their last year of dance college in London, and so they were very excited to be on the job. They looked great in our costumes and jewellery, and we had fun glamming them up.
Michael Fish (the Weatherman – remember him?) was also there doing a cameo – a lovely guy.
It was a long day in the studio and with 4 costume changes there was a lot to do. For the last shot of the day the director wanted everyone in the shot, so we got dragged up too!
So now we all need to buy the track and try and make it Christmas number 1!
Take a look at it here…
